Thanks for all you do...

Today's card was actually one that I created to submit to Paper Crafts for the latest Stamp It call but after this card was completely finished I realized I misread the email and it was actually colouring with markers (for some reason I had it in my head as using colouring mediums) uugghhh!!

Anyway, I used Yasumoto's pearlescent watercolour paints to colour the wildflowers on Strathmore watercolour paper. The sentiment is by Verve and the wildflowers are from a set called Life by Papertrey Ink. I inked and stitched the edges of the panel and inked the edges of the little flowers and added a raspberry rhinestone to each center. I tied on a big pretty bow and embossed the background with my Tin Types Impression plate. The background is actually a tad lighter than the photo and is an olive green but the pic makes it look more brown.
Anyway, off to create another card to submit.
Have a creative day.

Clean and Simple Challenge

I decided to play along with the clean and simple challenge on splitcoaststampers this week. The colors were Kraft, Turquoise and White. Easy peasy!

I grabbed a piece of white cardstock off my desk that was there from an earlier project today and stamped the tea cup in Tempting Turquoise ink. I added a little dimension with some copics and stamped the tea string and sentiment in Burnt Umber ink. I then used the little dotted stamp from It's a Celebration set to make the dotted border at the top of the cup and punched out a tiny turquoise heart with my handheld Fiskars heart punch. I stamped the tag on a scrap piece of cardstock and cut it out and glued it to the cup with the tiny heart I punched out earlier.

I added a border of turquoise cardstock to the bottom and mounted it on a piece of Kraft cardstock that is slightly smaller than my white cardbase.I then punched out the decorative border with my Martha punch and added some ribbon and a Kraft cardstock scalloped tag made with a lighter shade of Kraft cardstock. I machine stitched the white panel and glued everything to my cardbase. I then punched out three tiny stars with my Family Treasures star punch and voila the card is finished.

Until next time, stay crafty!

Curtain Call Color Challenge: ACT 44

This was my first time playing along with Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge. I loved the bright fun colours from this weeks challenge so I gave it a try. It actually helped my creative mojo. For the last six weeks I have been focusing on me (dieting and exercising daily) and have been using my craft time to workout while my kids were napping. So I haven't really made any cards and my creative mojo suffered. I tried to make a card two nights ago and I was really having a hard time with it and the card wasn't very nice either. This morning before my kids woke up I snuck in a little me time and really enjoyed making this card. I didn't have the SU colours so I pulled what looked closest from my stash. I used Berry Sorbet (PTI) and a scrap yellow and Turquoise piece of cardstocks from my scrap bin. I started off with a white background that I ran through my cuttlebug with a PTI texture plate (Linen & Canvas) which you really can't see in the photo. I cut a rectangle and embossed it and stamped the flowers from Beautiful Blooms 2 (Love this set!) in Berry Sorbet, Summer Sunrise (PTI) and Cote D'Azure ink (Palette). The leaf image is from Spiral Bouquet and the sentiment if from Masculine Motifs (all Papertrey Ink). I jazzed up a strip of Berry Sorbet cardstock with my Martha punch and punched out some butterflies as well. I machine stitched the panels to the background and added some rhinestones to add a little bling to the card. Then I added the main panel to the card with dimensional adhesive.
I hope to squeeze in a little card making today in between painting our master bath! Enjoy a creative day.

Pretty Little Thank You

Good day fellow crafty girls...I hope you are all doing well. I haven't been doing much stamping or creating this week but thought I would share a card I made a few weeks ago...

I started with the blue green panel (Simon by Bazzill) and stamped my favourite leaf image from Turning a New Leaf. I also stamped the little flower from Boxes, Bags & Tags in the open left over spaces to fill it up a bit. I cut a piece of Honeycomb cardstock and stamped the large and smaller flower images in Fresh Snow ink randomly across the panel. I punched out a white strip of tiny scallops and glued it beneath the Honeycomb strip to my card. I added some machine stitching to the top and bottom of the panel and then glued everything down to my card base. I stamped the sentiment in Burnt Umber ink and positioned it to the right side of the panel to leave room for my flower. I punched out two daisies and stamped one of the tiny flowers on the top daisy in Raw Sienna ink. I inked the flower edges with a sponge and punched out a dark brown leaf and attached it to the card with dimensional adhesive. I tied some matching floss onto my tag and glued it to the card. I added a little rhinestone to the flower center to jazz it up a bit. I then made an envelope out of white paper and stamped the flowers in Raw Sienna ink on the envelopes flap and added a little envelope glue to the inside of the flap.

2S4Y Kazan's Sketch 57

I decided to try my hand at Kazan's sketch from 2S4Y. When I looked at this sketch I automatically thought that the scallops across the middle looked like water so that's what I went withI started with a piece of Blue Yonder cardstock and I used my Eyelet Lace Border die (PTI) to create the water's edge at the top of my card. I inked the edges of the blue cardstock with Bordering Blue ink. I stamped the foilage (Blooming Button Bits) in Ripe Avocado ink and gave it a little shadow with a copic marker. I punched out the fish and added a little ink to the edges and added a little highlight with a white marker. I attached them with foam squares and glued on some rhinestones for bubbles. I stamped the sentiment in Prussian Blue ink and glued the panel to my card base. I finished the inside to match and decorated the bottom corner of the envelope as well.

Rustic Thinking of You

This card is a pretty simple card but I really liked the way it turned out. I used Masculine Motifs to create this card. I started by stamping the background in Burnt Sienna ink. I then stamped the leaves on a piece of white cardstock and used a nesties to draw a frame and then cut it out with a pair of mini pinking decorative scissors. I machine stitched around the edge, stamped the sentiment and added some subtle shadowing with a light gray copic marker. I tied some ribbon around the bottom of the card and attached it to a white card base.
I am off to prep food for my daughter's third birthday party today..... (she is so excited...it is so cute!) Have a good one and make it a creative one.

Butterfly Encouragement

For this particular card, I stamped the leaf images in Noir ink and coloured them in with a few green copics. I also added a light shading underneath the leaves in Cool Gray No. 1. I then glued on a Green Tea panel to the bottom and machine stitched a border around the whole cardstock strip. I ran my teal background through my cuttlebug with the Canvas & Linen impression plate (PTI) and glued on the cardstock strip before tying a piece of black floss across the card. I stamped the sentiment in black ink. Punch a few butterflies in black and glued them to the card and one to the flap of the envelope.
